Hilary Self BSc.(Hons), our Medical Herbalist/Co-Director, was required to undertake field trials as part of her BSc Degree Course in Herbal Medicine. She took the opportunity to trial a single herb, Vitex Agnus Castus, (also known as Chaste Tree Berry or Monks Pepper Seed), on a group of fifty elderly horses and ponies. In response to the findings of this trial and the in-depth knowledge she gained, she formulated the Vitex Plus range.
Our customers may notice a change in the look of our Gold liquid supplements, which are now more concentrated, and packed in a 1.05pt (500ml) bottle, helping us to further reduce the amount of plastic in our packaging.
Please don’t worry, the product is still made using the same fantastic ingredients and is just as cost-effective as before. As an added bonus, most of the tinctures/extracts used in our Proprietary Formulas are Certified Organic and/or Responsibly Wild Crafted, and the products now have a 5-year shelf life!
The main change to the products is that they no longer contain Apple Cider Vinegar. If customers want to continue offering their horses and pets this fantastic general health supplement it is still available from us as a “ straight”.

This product is simply amazing! Our tiny Shetland mare is her happy and curious self again after just one bottle of 8 mL a day. She's at least 26 years old, and this winter, things were really going South with her. She stopped eating, her fur was dull and curly, she didn't really want any contact with horses or humans... She would just stand and stare into the outside wall of the barn for hours. We were really worried that this was the end. And now, she's completely changed! She eats everything she gets near, she's curious and expressive again, she interacts with our other horses and every passerby. We're really looking forward to finding out if she'll shed her fur fully this year. Love it!

My mare,is doing very well on the Vitex Plus Gold ! She has never been so relaxed and comfortable in her behaviour as she is now. I even start riding her again ( after 1 year of only being out in the field) and must honestly say that it all feels very powerfull...even after such a long break, she never felt better under the saddle as she's doing now! Her coat was ok again this summer, starting now having a wintercoat, but all horses do right now I guess :-)
