Hilary Self, our Medical Herbalist/Co-Director, was required to undertake field-trials as part of her BSc Degree Course in Herbal Medicine. She took the opportunity to trial a single herb, Vitex Agnus Castus, (also known as Chaste Tree Berry or Monks Pepper Seed), on a group of fifty elderly horses and ponies. In response to the findings of this trial and the in-depth knowledge she gained, she then formulated the Vitex Plus range.
Within a month, my Arabian was more alert and energetic showing no signs of depression. Kept him on the recommended amount for several months and now have reduced his supplement quite a bit. He shedded out nicely, has a great disposition and is happy!

I bought this supplement to give my 24-year-old Arabian gelding. He has not shed out properly for the past two years along with other issues. I have only been using this stuff for a few weeks, but he has already started shedding out like he should be. It has an odd smell, but he seems to eat it just fine.

Stable started to be less wet after 10 days on it. Shedding has picked up. Seems to be helping overall. He actually eats it, even though he is VERY picky.

I've only been feeding this for a month and so far, so good! It took a few days for my picky 24yo mare to accept this change and after week+ of getting the full amount, the improvements are obvious: she is much more animated.

My 24-year-old Paso Fino, was lethargic, grew very long hair and hoofs, and could barely walk. I considered putting him down, not because I didn't love him but because he was so unhappy. I started adding one scoop of Vitex Plus daily to his feed. Within a few weeks he began moving with grace, he shed his long hair, and he started enjoying life again. He now has the spirit of a young boy and is very happy. Thank you for saving my sweet boy!

I thought it was about time I let everyone know how brilliant Vitex Plus has been for my Arab/Welsh mare, Chloe. It has not been an easy ride (fertilised fields and sharing with sheep) but now at 24, I have managed for the last 2 years (since I moved fields) without any problems. She lives out all year round with access to a field shelter and a purely fibre diet, with Vitex Plus and Hoof and Health added. Her immune system is in full working order. She has her teeth checked every 6 months. Her feet are in amazing condition (her excellent farrier plays a big part) and she is 100% sound. She drinks more than an average horse and has a longer thicker coat most of the time, but it does completely shed in the spring and again in the autumn. She has a summer coat for about 2 months. I have been feeding Vitex-plus for about 6 years and will continue to do so for the rest of her life. There is no doubt that it has played a vital part in her rehabilitation and continuing stabilised condition. In fact this year has been her best yet! Thank you so much Hilary and Hiltons. Chloe is the first foal I bred and was a wonderful riding horse taking me to international level in endurance. In recent years she has been a fabulous nanny to many youngsters and a wonderful companion. I am very grateful she is still happy and enjoying her retirement. Definitely top marks and 5* for Vitex Plus and Hoof & Health.
