Update from our LegUpForTalent sponsored rider Sophie Spiteri
Sophie Spiteri update
It has been a while since we have heard from our LegUpForTalent sponsored rider, Sophie Spiteri, so we thought it was about time for an update. Here's what Sophie has been getting up to:
" The boys have been going well recently and there’s lots of success to report. Archie, my new boy got his dancing feet on 3 weeks ago and won his first dressage test with me as his new rider. We are still a new partnership, so I was thrilled to have had a win on our first time out together.
The following week was Silmi's chance to shine. After a rather wet and windy winter of a point league show jumping series, Silmi finished up as the overall points champion, meaning he came home with a lovely trophy and a sash!
You can see from the photos that he looks very white after a good scrub in the Hilton Herbs High Horse Blue shampoo*. I can’t rate this stuff enough! Silmi is a real muck magnet and will roll in anything he can if given half a chance! We had lots of compliments about how white he was, so it must be doing the trick!
Our most recent success was last weekend with Archie. We were called up last minute by the riding club to take the place of someone who was unwell overnight for an area qualifier of combined training. So, with Silmi already entered, bathed and plaited, I popped Archie on the lorry for a spin out too! Silmi did very well with a dressage score of 35 and a clear round in the show jumping, meaning he finished 5th overall in a big section.
Archie surpassed all expectations and did a smashing dressage test with a score of 25 to put him well ahead on the score board. He followed that up with a classy clear round, meaning we won the qualifier and will now represent our area at the National Championships at Aston Le Walls in May.
On the strength of last weekend, we are now heading to Solihull BE in 2 weeks’ time. We have been moved from the waiting list and now have a definite entry in our section. This will be our first event together so I'm very excited to see how he takes to it all! I'll look forward to letting everyone know how we got on in a couple of weeks’ time."
*We do not sell the Hilton herbs High Horse Blue shampoo anymore. However, the Top Dog Blue shampoo is the same formula. Make sure to get your hands on it as once it has gone, it’ll be gone for good!
