At the recent Your Horse Live! we sponsored a prize donated by the British Equestrian Trade Association and the winner was Lucy Benson. Here is what Lucy had to say when she received her prize:
"I won this prize this November at Your Horse Live! which was very exciting as I haven’t won anything there before! I attend Your Horse Live! every year with my Mum and my step-Dad and this year my boyfriend also came along as he is currently in training to become more ‘equestrian’ 😉 (pictured!)
I am 22 years old and have recently finished University and I now work for the NHS as a Biomedical Scientist. We have 2 horses in our family, Pyro (left) and Zsa (right).
Zsa is a 17 year old Dutch Warmblood and has been in our family for 14 years. He is a huge character to have around the yard and always makes us laugh, despite often causing chaos and breaking things! We competed at BD Prelim and Novice for several years but, as Zsa is now in his more senior years, we have taken a step back and enjoy competing at local showjumping and dressage competitions, and participating with our local Riding Club.
Pyro is a 9 year old Ex Racehorse and has been with us for 3 years. He is extremely kind natured, inquisitive and loves attention and cuddles. I have been slowly retraining him and we have competed locally. Retraining him has been challenging and also extremely rewarding, as it has all been a very new experience for me. He is an extremely quick learner, and I’m excited to see where we progress to in the future!"
