Calm & Collected is a carefully formulated herbal supplement designed to support calm behaviour as part of your horse’s everyday management. It brings together traditionally valued herbs, including Chamomile and Valerian, in a convenient liquid blend suitable for horses and ponies of all ages.

What is in the blend?

• Chamomile: Chamomile has a long history of traditional use in herbal preparations to support relaxation and general wellbeing. Chamomile contains active compounds such as apigenin, bisabolol, and chamazulene, which have mild sedative and relaxing properties  These can help reduce anxiety and nervousness, especially in horses undergoing travel, competition, or environmental changes.
  
  
• Valerian: Valerian is traditionally valued for its use in calming herbal preparations and is a key ingredient in this carefully considered blend. Valerian is used to help calm, strengthen and support the nervous system in horses, without drowsiness. The calming effect is attributed to Valerenic acid and related compounds in the root, which may interact with the brain’s gamma‑aminobutyric acid (GABA) system. GABA helps regulate nerve impulses and reduce stress responses. Valerian is believed to slow GABA breakdown and influence brain areas processing fear and emotional reactions, potentially producing a mild calming effect.
  
  
• Vervain: Vervain is a traditional herbal ingredient that complements the other herbs in the formulation. Vervain is a natural “nervine” herb, meaning it helps balance the nervous system. It’s especially helpful for horses that are twitchy, spooky, over‑excitable, or prone to restless movement. • Meadowsweet: Meadowsweet is highly valued for its ability to soothe the stomach lining and balance gut pH, making it particularly beneficial for horses prone to digestive sensitivity, gastritis, or ulcers. Its tannins help reduce stomach acid and inflammation, promoting healing of gastric mucosa and supporting overall digestive comfort.
  
  
• Cleavers: Cleavers are a natural lymphatic tonic that stimulates lymph flow, helps reduce fluid retention, and supports immune function. Competition Information

Important: Calm & Collected contains Valerian and Meadowsweet, which are prohibited under FEI and BHA competition regulations.

A 96-hour withdrawal period is advised for horses competing under FEI and other national or international regulations. Care should also be taken to avoid cross-contamination through feed equipment.

The Responsible Person should always check the latest rules with their relevant governing body before feeding any supplement for competition.

For competition horses, Calm & Collected PLUS is audited under the BETA NOPS Scheme as suitable for FEI competition. Please check the product information and current requirements applicable to your discipline.

Add to feed daily. Where possible, split the required amount across two feeds. A 50ml scoop is included in the bag and full instructions will be found on the packaging. Please allow up to a month for full benefits to be seen.
