This tried-and-tested herbal calmer containing valerian, chamomile, and other calming herbs, will help your horse maintain a calm, healthy, and balanced nervous system.  We recommend this supplement for use whilst schooling-on young horses, for changes in routine, or simply to help support tense, nervous or sensitive types.  Its worth remembering that horses can become stressed and exciteable for very simple reasons, such as insufficient daily turnout, or not enough exercise in relation to their calorific intake. Daily turnout is vital for every healthy horse, especially for young, still maturing animals. Click here to see our Calm and Collected video.

If you have a mare and think her behaviour is affected by her seasons then consider our Easy Mare range instead but we we would not suggest giving both supplements together.

Last summer my pony Tequila moved from the south of France, where we used to live, up to Lincolnshire UK. It was a very long journey and my main concern was that she was undoubtedly going to be very anxious. About three weeks before our departure, I started giving her Temperamend ( Calm & Collected) Tequila can be a little fussy and I was concerned as to whether or not she would eat it but, presumably because it must taste as good as it smells (the smell actually made me feel relatively calm myself), she ate it up with enthusiasm. She arrived very safely and very happily in England. The transport company said she was really calm and relaxed throughout the whole journey and that is thanks, to a large extent, to this product.

Being of the older generation i am not easily convinced about much! My story starts when i bought a 5 year old mare from the sales at Malvern! Boy was she Quirky! When i was putting in an order for herbs i noticed the special needs link and found Tempramend ( Calm & Collected) for sensitive horses, I ordered it and it arrived quickly. I started feeding it straight away. She did a Walk trot dressage test recently and won it and got 76%!!! Now I'm Hooked. totally different Horse! cant thank you enough...Sue

After a fright with a motorbike and other instances my shetland stallion had become completely unmanageable even turning him out was a struggle. In the past had tried other calmers with no effect but bought Calm And Collected over a month ago and within ten days I could see a difference. Now I have my sweet pony back who is calm and not at all dangerous he may even continue with being broken to carriage that is what a miracle this product has been! thanks!

I am a herbalist, using lots for me, hubby and a little for my 7 rehomed abused ponies. I tried the Calm & Collected supplement and I cannot believe what a good balance you have in yours. THANK YOU. My Welsh mare was so wild and traumatised she had to be darted from a rifle to catch her, she even broke a vets leg! I was really worried and then bought a tub of your product. I canít believe how well it is working, I can get her into a pen for feeding, she takes treats from my hand and yesterday I rubbed her nose twice. Trust me, this is a huge breakthrough. I am a lifelong fan now and will continue working with Snowy with a view to getting strangers like the farrier to be able to approach her. I will always buy this product, please do not discontinue it.... ever! Babs Bufton.... and the Magnificent 7

Don't know if its the lessons, the Hilton Herbs or the fact that Buzz is now out all the time, but went for a hack today and it was like riding a different horse. no napping, we dealt with things by just looking and walking past, even stuff he'd never seen before. Long period of trot even past open field gateways. He was forward going as well for most of it. Last Friday we had a lesson in the field for the first time and he was well behaved, Alice said that he was so much more balanced, we managed to get him into canter 3rd time of asking which I thought was very good and managed to get him to walk over a coloured pole, he kicked it with his back foot and leapt in the air, bless him. Will keep you posted but very pleased with the last few weeks.

One of the herbs used in this product is Valerian (Valeriana officinalis).  Valerian is adored by both cats and mice. In the old days, when there was an apothecary or herbalist on every street, the herbs were often stored in wooden drawers in a large sideboard. It was said that you could always tell the valerian drawer because it would be rubbed shiny by the apothecary cat rubbing up against it and polishing the wood with its body. It is also suggested that the Pied Piper of Hamelin used valerian to entice the mice and rats to follow him out of the town.
