Herbal supplement for use when a quicker absorption is required to help your horse maintain a calm and healthy balanced nervous system.  Often given initially before going onto the dried Calm & Collected for those owners who prefer a dried mix.  This tried and tested herbal calmer containing valerian, chamomile and other relaxing herbs will help your horse maintain a calm, healthy and balanced nervous system. Click here to see our Calm and Collected video.

We recommend this supplement for tense, nervous, or sensitive horses or ponies, for changes in routine, or for behavioural issues, particularly with young horses.  Things which can provoke anxiety or stress include include insufficient turnout (vital for every healthy horse), over-feeding, and excessive workload, especially with young, still maturing animals.  Be aware that the herbs can take up to a month to get into your horse or ponies system.

If you think your mare's behaviour may be related to her seasons you may consider using our Easy Mare range instead. We would not suggest giving both supplements together.

I am a herbalist, using lots for me, hubby and a little for my 7 rehomed abused ponies. I tried the Calm & Collected supplement and I cannot believe what a good balance you have in yours. THANK YOU. My Welsh mare was so wild and traumatised she had to be darted from a rifle to catch her, she even broke a vets leg! I was really worried and then bought a tub of your product. I canít believe how well it is working, I can get her into a pen for feeding, she takes treats from my hand and yesterday I rubbed her nose twice. Trust me, this is a huge breakthrough. I am a lifelong fan now and will continue working with Snowy with a view to getting strangers like the farrier to be able to approach her. I will always buy this product, please do not discontinue it.... ever! Babs Bufton.... and the Magnificent 7

I used the product which was recommended to me by my veterinarian surgeon. I had a 2 year old warmblood that had to be kept in a stall for 2 months followed by confinement in a very small paddock for another 2 months. This product was amazing!! I am a believer.

Full instructions will be found on the packaging or in our VIDEO GUIDE but if you have any queries please do contact our Helpline for more information.  The quantity of product added to your horse or pony's feed can be slightly increased or decreased, depending on the circumstances as, like humans, all horses & ponies are individuals.  Very often a lower maintenance amount, will be sufficient for a horse or pony that is going to be kept on the herbs long-term.

One of the herbs used in this product is Valerian (Valeriana officinalis).  Valerian is adored by both cats and mice. In the old days, when there was an apothecary or herbalist on every street, the herbs were often stored in wooden drawers in a large sideboard. It was said that you could always tell the valerian drawer because it would be rubbed shiny by the apothecary cat rubbing up against it and polishing the wood with its body. It is also suggested that the Pied Piper of Hamelin used valerian to entice the mice and rats to follow him out of the town.
